About the Conference

Brown University is located in historic Providence, Rhode Island and was founded in 1764, making it the seventh-oldest college in the United States.

Brown is an independent, coeducational Ivy League institution comprising of both undergraduate and graduate programs, plus the Alpert Medical School and the School of Engineering. Its vibrant, diverse community consists of over 6,000 undergraduates, 2,000 graduate students, 400 medical school students, and nearly 700 faculty members, with students hailing from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.

Brown students have a lot to smile about. Named by the 2010 Princeton Review as the #1 College in America for Happiest Students, Brown is frequently recognized for its global reach, many cultural events, numerous campus groups and activities, active community service programs, highly competitive athletics, and beautiful facilities.

Located between the cities of New York and Boston, the community around the University is picturesquely New England. Despite its labeling as an urban school, residential blocks, rather than skyscrapers, surround main campus, which is nestled atop of one of the highest points in Providence: College Hill. Aside from the University, the city of Providence offers fantastic cuisine on nearby Federal Hill, and a downtown transportation hub complete with an Amtrak station, commuter rail to Boston, and regular shuttle buses to the nearby T.F. Green International Airport in Cranston, RI.
