Crisis Committees
Crisis Committees are fast-paced committees that require delegates to think on their feet, problem-solve, and strategize in order to achieve the goals of their character.
Crisis Committees
Joint Crisis Committee: Chaos, Khans, and Shahs: Postwar Iran
It is the spring of 1920. The First World War has ended, but Iran remains fractured. The central government is unstable, foreign troops occupy major cities, and tribal and revolutionary groups control large parts of the countryside. Delegates will take on the roles of politicians, military leaders, activists, and tribal figures as they respond to outside pressure, internal divisions, and competing visions for Iran’s future.
Chairs: Romi Bhatia, Linus Pritchard
Security Breach 2050: AI Threat to Global Infrastructure
Chair: Jocelyn Hernandez
The Last Bastion: The Fall of Constantinople
Byzantine rule in Constantinople is nearing an end, and the Ottomans are preparing to take control of the city. Delegates will represent generals, advisors, engineers, and reluctant vassals to make strategic decisions in the final days of the siege and navigate uncertain loyalties and conflicting incentives.
Chair: Hans Xu
Ad Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General
Ad Hoc is a fast-paced committee meant for advanced delegates. The topic will be announced during the first committee session but stay tuned for clues leading up the conference. Only delegates with crisis experience should select this committee.
Chair: Jocelyn Hernandez
